Auto Repair Warranty in La Porte, TX
An auto repair warranty pays the shop for covered repairs after your factory coverage runs out. We walk you through what a plan covers, what it leaves out and how a claim works, line by line, before you sign anything.

An auto repair warranty, explained simply
Legally it is a vehicle service contract. You buy the plan, usually with monthly payments. If a covered part fails, the plan pays the repair shop and you pay a fixed deductible. Car insurance is a separate thing. This plan does not cover wrecks, hail or theft. It covers parts that wear out or break.
Companies selling vehicle service contracts are regulated by Texas, and each contract spells out its rules: a waiting period before coverage begins, the covered parts, the exclusions and the steps a shop has to take before starting work. Most trouble with claims happens when people don't know those rules. We go through them with you and flag the ones that matter most.
This page is about plans focused on repairs. For longer terms on a newer car, see Car Extended Warranty. For repair coverage bundled with added benefits, see Auto Protection Warranty.
What a repair plan can cover
- Engine and transmission
- The big-ticket parts. Most plans cover internal lubricated parts of the engine and transmission. We show you whether seals and gaskets are included, because some plans leave them out.
- Cooling and air conditioning
- Water pumps, radiators, compressors and condensers. A Gulf Coast summer is hard on these parts, so we check how each plan handles them.
- Electrical and steering
- Alternators, starters, power steering pumps and window motors. Higher plan levels add more electrical parts, and we tell you which ones.
- Roadside help
- Roadside assistance is covered under the warranty. That can mean a tow to a repair shop after a breakdown, so you are not stuck paying for the truck on top of the repair.
- Payment you can plan around
- We offer flexible payment options. Many drivers pick monthly payments so the cost fits the budget like any other bill.
Signs a repair warranty makes sense for you
Your factory warranty is ending
Check the mileage on your powertrain coverage. Once it lapses, every repair comes out of your pocket.
Your vehicle has high miles
Older trucks and SUVs are often worth keeping. They also start needing pumps, sensors and transmission work. A plan can make those bills predictable.
A repair bill would hurt the budget
If one large repair would mean missing other bills, a set monthly payment and a known deductible may be the better trade.
You drive a lot
Long commutes put miles on fast. More miles means more wear, and wear is what these plans pay for.
What changes the cost of a repair plan
Auto repair warranties have no fixed price. What you pay comes from your vehicle and the choices you make, and we walk through each one on the call so you know where your money goes.
Years and miles
Coverage costs more on older vehicles with high mileage, since their parts are nearer to wearing out.
The vehicle itself
Certain vehicles have costlier parts or common problem areas, and the rate reflects it.
How much is covered
Powertrain-only coverage is cheaper than a plan covering most of the vehicle. We help you sort out which parts are worth covering on yours.
Deductible and plan length
Raising the deductible brings the plan price down. A longer plan costs more but covers additional years and miles.
How it works, from first call to covered repair
- 1
Call us
We ask for the year, make, model and mileage. You can talk with us by phone, by video or at our office.
- 2
Compare plans side by side
We show you what each level covers and what it excludes. We explain the waiting period, the deductible and any maintenance records you need to keep.
- 3
Pick a plan and a payment
You choose the coverage and the payment option. Nothing starts until you agree to it.
- 4
When something breaks
Take the vehicle to a repair shop. The shop calls the plan administrator and gets approval before the repair. You pay your deductible, and the plan pays the shop for covered repairs.

Auto repair warranty questions we hear
Does an auto repair warranty count as car insurance?
No. Insurance covers damage from crashes, weather and theft. A repair warranty covers mechanical parts that break down with normal driving. Lots of drivers have both.
Can I keep going to my usual mechanic?
With most plans, yes, you can use the shop you already go to. The shop must call for approval before the work begins. We check the shop rules in your contract with you before you buy.
Do I have to wait before coverage starts?
Most plans include a waiting period measured in days and miles, and repairs inside it are not covered. We give you the exact period for every plan we show you.
What do plans usually exclude?
Parts that wear down, like brake pads, tires and wipers, plus oil changes. Problems already there when the plan began are left out too. A claim can be denied for missed maintenance, so hold on to your receipts.
Can an older, high-mileage truck get covered?
In many cases, yes. Choices get smaller as the miles rise, but plenty of plans still take older vehicles. Call with your mileage and we will show you the options that fit.
